Can you…?
Can you render over pebbledash?
Quick answer
Often yes — if the existing pebbledash is sound and well-bonded, a modern render can be applied over it. If it's cracked, hollow or blown, it's better removed first so the new render has a solid base. We check its condition and advise honestly which route suits your walls.
In more detail
Rendering over sound pebbledash can save time and mess, and gives you that smooth, modern finish without a full strip-off.
But pebbledash that's cracked, drummy (hollow-sounding) or coming away won't provide a reliable base, and rendering over it just hides problems. In those cases we remove it back to a sound wall and start fresh.
Either way, going from tired dash to a smooth silicone or monocouche render is one of the most transformative jobs we do.
